Hello fellow bloggers,
With the guard world coming to a close, people often ask,
will I miss it? Well of course I will. The feeling when it’s over is something
I can barely explain. The heart ache, the relief, the emotion that runs through
your entire body when you know it’s your last time performing that show for the
rest of your life. No more weekend trips to Orlando for twelve hour practices.
No more nights with the guard you call your family. No more performances that
will make the crowd go wild. It’s all a crazy feeling, how fast time flies when
you’re having fun. Who knew months of training came down to the floor folding
for the last time, and the uniform being put away in the back of your closet.
It really doesn’t hit you until you step out for that final performance, when
you just look at your teammates, your family through it all, and say how much
you’ll miss them. The hardest part is knowing that your family of a team all
live in different parts, making it impossible to see them every weekend again.
It’s difficult, but I know that there’s a next year, and then a next, and those
friends I made will always be in my life.
Until next time,
Noura
