Hello fellow bloggers,
What to do next... something I am always asking myself in a show. When performing such a difficult and skill oriented task, you need to ask yourself, "what comes next"? Well it's a simple question to ask yourself, but is it easier said than done? Yes for sure. When I start a show I always have to perform my show mentally before I do it physically. Before the team goes on, we usually begin warm up outside of the arena or gymnasium, wherever the competition is at the time. We begin warm up with stretch block run by our captains and the we go on to across the floors which pretty much mean what I just said. It is a warm up which includes the team starting one side of the floor and moving their way to the other side while doing different choreographies to warm their body up, and then we usually move on to standing runs. Standing runs is the performance of the show without the drill. Everyone finds room to spin and dance while going through the show at their own pace without having to move in their original spots. This usually helps the team find their focus before going on in front of a crowd. And then, we're off! Time to perform and show the crowd how talented a group can get.
Until next time,
